May 17: Fargo, ND
Saturday started with breakfast picked up at Starbucks in the airport on Friday followed by unpacking our luggage and organizing the RV. Our orientation session was not scheduled until 11 AM so we also had time to walk into town from the Winnebago Grand Rally center and pick up some lunch items at the local grocery.
At the appointed time, we headed over to finish up the paperwork and watch the orientation video. I am not sure if the video was intended to convince us to buy the extra insurance package or simply scare the bejesus out of us, but it covered all the mistakes that one can make driving the RV and the unintended consequences.
Having already purchased the insurance, by noon we were back in the RV and throwing together a quick lunch. By 12:30 pm, we were on the road.
Our itinerary for Saturday was intentionally short since we would have only 1/2 a day on the road; however, we wanted to cover as much ground as possible. By 7:30 pm, we left Iowa and Minnesota behind and were in Fargo, North Dakota. Our first order of business after filling the gas tank with . . . GULP . . . $162.00 worth of Regular, was to hit the Super Walmart for supplies. It was a large shopping, but, by 10 pm, the food and supplies were purchased and neatly packed away in the RV. After a late, simple supper, it was time to call it a day and spend the night at the Super W RV park pictured below.
